Collaboration between Global Cities and Startups: Startups Tackling Urban Challenges!Tokyo Metropolitan Government aims to solve common urban challenges and foster the next unicorns through global scaleup by supporting the Joint Project of startups in Tokyo to address issues in overseas cities since last year. This year, the cities of Malmö (Sweden) and Jakarta (Indonesia) will serve as the testing grounds for this joint project. Malmö, known for its diversity with residents from approximately 180 different countries, leverages this strength by actively supporting startups that drive positive social change. The city has established Minc, a startup community that fosters such innovative enterprises. Jakarta, one of the largest cities in Southeast Asia, is the business, commercial, and cultural hub of Indonesia. The city has set up the "Future City Hub," a platform where government, businesses, and startups can gather to discuss, collaborate, and innovate. On the event day, representatives from each city will conduct reverse pitches aimed at addressing sustainable urban development in each city.
